Asking for a detailed photo, and wording the request
The only part of the inspection you control. It is paid, it is capped, and it returns exactly what your sentence asked for and nothing else.
Prices and caps move; this site does not republish either. Read the figure in the ordering dialog at the moment you confirm. Why we do not quote prices
The terms of the paid service, and the scope that sits next to them
Detailed photographs are the only part of the inspection you control. The standard set is fixed by the warehouse standard for the category; this one is taken to your instruction. That is the whole of the difference, and it is worth more than it sounds.
The terms are short. It is a paid service, priced per photograph, capped per request. You describe what you want and the warehouse shoots it: a zoom, a close up, a measurement of a named part. If the result does not match what you asked for, you can ask again at no further charge.
There is one administrative detail that costs people a day. If the goods are already in storage rather than freshly arrived, PonyBuy asks you to specify the item number in the request. Without it the warehouse does not know which of your stored parcels to open.
Where the request lives, and what the dialog asks for
Two screens, because people look for this in the wrong place. The request is not in a chat window and not in the order timeline. It is a form reached from the account area, and it asks you for the quantity first and the description second.
Fill them in the other order. Write the description, count how many separate shots it actually needs, and then set the quantity to that number. PonyBuy itself gives this as a caution on the same page: confirm that the requirements you submitted match the photo quantity you ordered. A description asking for four things with the quantity left at one produces one photograph and no refund.
How to word a request so it comes back usable
A detailed photograph is worth exactly as much as the sentence that ordered it. Inspectors are not guessing at your intent; they are executing a description.
Name the part, not the worry
Heel tab, insole, box end label, clasp engraving, inner seam. A named part is a place to point a camera. A worry is not.
Say how it should be presented
Flat, straight on, insole removed, tape measure in frame and readable. The presentation is usually the difference between a photograph you can judge and one you cannot.
Count the shots, then set the quantity
One request can cover several parts, but each part is a photograph. Match the number to the description before you confirm, as PonyBuy asks.
Quote the item number when the goods are stored
PonyBuy asks for it explicitly for warehouse stored purchases. Copy it from the order rather than typing it from memory.
Do not ask for a judgement
Is this legit, is this a good batch, does this look right to you: none of these can be answered by an inspection whose scope is appearance. Ask for the picture and make the judgement yourself.
Order while the window is still open
The point of paying for a photograph is to decide something before the return window closes. Ordering one after the five days have run turns evidence into a souvenir.
The service in PonyBuy own words
Worth reading in full, because two of the constraints in it are easy to miss when summarised: the cap on quantity and the right to a re-take.
One caution about the price in the second paragraph. The same page shows a different figure inside the ordering dialog from the one in this body text. This site does not pick a winner between them and does not publish a price of its own; the figure that binds is whichever one the dialog shows you at the moment you confirm.
Note the word precised in the first line. That is PonyBuy own wording, kept as published.
Detailed photo is a value added benefit specifically made for users who require personalized and precised photos.
Detailed photos are paid photos, and charged 1 Chinese Yuan per one, maximum qty is 20. You can ask the warehouse to take photos from your requirements, whether it's zoom in/close-up, or measurements of certain parts of your item. You can ask for a re-take when your requirements are not met.

The same question, worded two ways
Every example below is this site writing a request, not PonyBuy publishing them. They are here because the difference between the middle column and the right one is the difference between a useful photograph and a wasted charge.
| What you actually want to know | A request that gets it | A request that does not |
|---|---|---|
| Whether the heel tab stitching is clean | Close up of the left heel tab, whole tab in frame, straight on | Check the heels please |
| The real chest measurement | Lay flat, tape from armpit seam to armpit seam, tape readable in the frame | Is it true to size |
| What is printed on the insole | Remove the right insole, photograph the printed face flat | Insole pic |
| Whether the box label matches the pair | The box end label, close enough that every line is readable | Photo of the box |
| The engraving on the bag hardware | Zoom on the engraving on the front clasp, item number quoted in the request | Check the hardware |
| Whether the thing is genuine | Nothing will get this. Authentication is outside the inspection scope | Is it legit |
Requests are ours. The constraints they are written to fit, the cap, the per photo charge and the item number requirement, are PonyBuy own.
Four questions before you pay for one
Answered from the detailed photo page and the inspection scope, both linked above.
- How many detailed photos can I order at once?
PonyBuy publishes a maximum quantity per request on the detailed photo page. Check the figure in the ordering dialog at the moment you confirm, because that is the one that is charged.
- What does one cost?
PonyBuy publishes a per photo price, but its own page shows one figure in the body text and a different figure inside the ordering dialog. Trust the dialog, and treat any price written on this site as out of date.
- The photos came back wrong. Do I pay again?
PonyBuy states you can ask for a re-take when your requirements are not met. That is a different thing from changing your mind about what you wanted photographed.
- Can I ask the inspector whether it is authentic?
You can ask, and you will not get an answer. Authentication is outside the published inspection scope, and PonyBuy says directly that it cannot do professional identification even for digital products.
